A Heart Letter to the Woman Still Giving Thanks
š¶ "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
ā 1 Thessalonians 5:18
I've been thinking a lot lately about what it really means to have a grateful heart.
Not the kind of gratitude we post on social media when everything's going right. Not the easy thankfulness that flows when bills are paid, health is good, and life feels manageable.
I'm talking about the deep, holy kind of gratitude that rises up even when you're standing in the middle of a storm. The kind that whispers, "Even here, I'm thankful."
Because here's the truth, Sis: A grateful heart isn't about denying the struggle. It's about choosing to see God's faithfulness even when you can't see His hand moving.
The Gratitude That Counts
Gratitude is a choice. And some days, it's a hard one.
I'm grateful that I pushed through the fear of failure to write my first newsletter. Was I scared? Absolutely. Did I doubt myself? More times than I can count. But I did it anyway, and God met me in that obedience.
I'm thankful that even when provision looked uncertain, God showed up for my family. He always does. His timing isn't always my timing, but His faithfulness is never late.
I'm grateful that I don't look like what I've endured. Some seasons tried to break me, Sis. But by God's grace, I'm still standing. Still becoming. Still believing.
And I'm thankful that in doing the small things, the daily disciplines, the quiet obedience, the unsexy consistency, I can see bigger things developing. God is working, even when I can't see the full picture yet.
My small steps, even when they're scary, make way for God to move big in my life and journey.
A Grateful Heart Sees What Faith Knows
Here's what I'm learning: A grateful heart doesn't wait for perfect circumstances to give thanks. A grateful heart sees what faith knows.
Faith knows that God is working, even when the work is invisible.
Faith knows that He's providing, even when provision looks different than expected.
Faith knows that nothing is wasted ā not the struggle, not the waiting, not the small faithful steps.
When you choose gratitude in the storm, you're not ignoring the rain. You're recognizing the One who holds the umbrella. You're acknowledging that even in hard seasons, God's goodness is still present.
Gratitude shifts your perspective from what's missing to what's already there. From what you can't see to what faith already knows.
Keep Giving Thanks, Sis
Sis, I know you're carrying something heavy right now. I know there are days when gratitude feels hard to find. When the storm is loud and God feels quiet.
But can I tell you something? Your gratitude, even the whispered, weary kind, is an act of worship. It's a declaration that you still trust Him. That you still believe He's good, even when life isn't easy.
So today, even if it's just for one moment, choose to say it:
Even here, I'm thankful.
Even in the waiting, I'm grateful.
Even when I can't see it all, I trust He's working.
Your small steps matter. Your quiet faithfulness counts. Your willingness to give thanks in the middle of the mess? That's holy ground, Sis.
Keep showing up. Keep giving thanks. Keep trusting that the God who called you is faithful to complete the work He started in you.
⨠Gratitude doesn't wait for the storm to pass. It trusts the One who walks with you through it.
May you find reasons to give thanks even in the hard places. May your gratitude become an act of worship. May you trust that God is working, even when you can't see it yet.
P.S. I Love You,
Dalila š
