The Price of Progress
For the woman Stretching Toward Purpose.
🎶 “It won’t always be like this… The Lord will perfect that concerning me…
And sooner or later, it’ll turn in my favor. It’s turning around for me.”
- VaShawn Mitchell
There’s a cost to becoming.
And lately? I’ve been feeling the weight of it.
With the current federal shutdown, financial strain, and personal commitments pulling me in every direction, I’ve had to ask myself: Is this what growth feels like?
The answer came back soft but certain:
Yes. Progress costs.
Not always in dollars, but in discipline, discomfort, and the decision to stretch.
Rearranging the Pieces
This season is demanding more of me.
It’s asking for my attention, my intention, and my surrender.
I’ve had to rearrange priorities and show up for myself in ways I’ve avoided in the past; spiritually, emotionally, physically.
Physical Therapy sessions. Bootcamp workouts. Faith-filled personal enrichment. Late-night coursework. All while holding it together for my family, my dreams, and the version of me I’m still becoming.
I’ve confronted quiet fears -Â
Fear of not having enough.
Fear of being too much.
Fear of failing in front of people who once called me strong.
And still… I press on.
A Moment of Affirmation
Last weekend, I attended an event for International Day of the Girl Child, and something shifted.
In that room, surrounded by fierce and brilliant young women, I didn’t just see the future - I saw myself.
The girl I once was.
The woman I am today.
And the woman I’m still becoming.
In that moment, I knew: I am becoming who she needed.
That, too, is progress.
That, too, is purpose.
To You, Sis...
If you’re sacrificing in silence,
If your growth feels invisible but exhausting,
If you're showing up broken but still hopeful...
Let this remind you:
You are not behind.
You are not broken.
You are not alone.
You’re paying the price for a future that’s worth it.
And your “yes” is blessing more people than you realize.
So stay the course.
Show up, stretched.
Speak life, even when you’re tired.
And trust that what feels heavy now is making room for what’s on the way.
✨ It’s turning around for you, too.
P.S. I Love You đź’™,
Dalila
